When setting up a home network router, you will be prompted to log into the router as the administrator. The default administrator login information (user name and password) is set on the router at the factory. Although you can change these settings after first sign on, it is not required.

Method 1 : Reset the System
If you have forgotten LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.
Hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds to restore the router configuration to factory defaults. This should allow you to reconfigure the system. If the system does not reset, press the button again.
Once the router is hard reset, you will need to login admin control panel to configure it again.
To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it’s Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.
