Plentyoffish: Users Emails, Passwords Exposed

Online dating site Plentyoffish was hacked last week, and e-mails, user names and passwords have been compromised by users who shows Plentyoffish CEO Markus Frind in a blog post. The security issue has been resolved, Markus says, and all passwords were reset. However, Plentyoffish has not made an official statement on the incident, and we recommend that users access to the site with caution.

The above is the most important bit of info for Plentyoffish users, but the real story of the hack and how it occurred is very confusing and very different depending on who you believe. According to Markus Frind, the Hack and the events that followed in detail on his personal blog, Plentyoffish was Argentine Hackers Chris Russo, who has under his own name without hacked to hide his identity as a precaution to be described. Frind then claims that Russo to extort money from him, he tried to respond by threatening to sue.

The entire blog post is particularly interesting because of his madness, how are extorting a shady business partner, Frind E-mail Russo’s mother, and references to other root-and-Russo’s operations. The history is still wrapped like Chris Russo’s side of the story in a blog post on Grumo media is revealed. Russo claims he’s only a security expert, a security hole on Plentyoffish, who had already discovered “by the active use among hackers.” Russo and his team revealed the vulnerability Frind wife, he claimed, and Frind and you are “interested in hiring us as a security professional to make an analysis of the plata forms.”

Deteriorated the relationship quickly, with Frind accused Russo that he Plentyoffish- database has stolen threatens not only to sue him, but to “destroy” his life. At this point it is difficult to understand what really happened, but the part of the story everyone seems to agree on is that a very popular dating site has been hacked and that the user passwords and other personal information (also PayPal account) have been compromised. Hopefully, the security issue on Plentyoffish really fixed, but users use the same username / email / password combinations elsewhere once the passwords on other sites as well.
